Let It Rain CD Cover (by the Industry Standard)
Client: The Industry Standard band Client Details: I am the drummer in a band called the Industry Standard. Our first CD is called, "Let It Rain," and our style of music is a unique blend of metal and punk. Year: 2010 Project Details: The CD cover had to include some form of rain imagery, and it had to represent our new and upcoming band to the potential customers. Concept:
I brainstormed ideas for bringing rain imagery to a CD cover for while, and I ended up with a few concepts. We could take a picture of the whole band in the rain, or I could use an image of a road during a storm. I decided against taking a rainy portrait because I didn't want to get my camera equipment wet, I didn't want to get myself wet, and we would have to find a day where it would rain and we were all available.
So I went with the concept of a rainy road. I went through some more ideas, and I came up with the idea of making the text seem like it was written on the road. It would be viewed from an overhead angle, with the name of the CD in big letters and the band underneath. I showed to the band, and they loved it!
